North Cape Trail

4 Days 3 Nights

Take a break and spend three nights and four days with us exploring the country to the north of Cape Town.

Day 1

We start with a leisurely drive to Clanwilliam, north of the great Western Cape Wilderness.

The first day we drive across the Brandywyne River past Travelers Rest, traveling through the Pakhuis Pass and Gannagapas. We will turn down to Wuppertal and the Bidouw Valley via the Uitkyk Pass. Wuppertal is an old isolated missionary station famous in South Africa for the manufacture of “veldskoen” a local type of handmade shoes.

We will travel down to Eselbank Pass, returning to Clanwilliam to overnight.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, we head to Springbok with its history in mining. On the way, we will visit Burke’s Pass, Sandhoogte Pass and Spektakel Pass.

Our second night will be spent at a superb guest house on the pass.

Day 3

Another early start and via dirt roads we will visit Wildeperdehoek Pass and Messelip Pass. On our return, we will drive through the Skilpad and Namaqua National Park and on to Killians Pass. Further on we meet Studers Pass.

We stay overnight at Kamieskroon and return to Cape Town via Vanrhynsdorp. If the trip is undertaken during the flower season, the flowers will be wonderful. However, at any time of the year the landscapes are spectacular. This area is steeped in history and tales of the wild north.

A chance to interact with the local communities and this trip of a lifetime is not to be missed.

Price

R3148 per person per day (for a minimum of two persons).

The rates include for vehicle, luxury Land Rover or bigger vehicle, driver-guide, fuel, meals (excluding alcoholic beverages) and lodging fees where applicable and are based on a minimum of two passengers.
This tour can also be undertaken as a guided self drive tour.
